50 Years

About Me
I started singing while in my mother's womb, due to the fact, that my parents were musicians, who sang together for over seventy-five years. I started singing solos at the age of five, songs such as "God Bless America." I was a fan of Kate Smith, and would raise my hands up as she did when I ended the song. As children, my siblings and I were called "The Wilson Trio," We sang all over Ohio, with our mom accompanying us on the piano. We sang songs such as "I Believe," and "Ave Maria," hymns, anthems, and gospel songs. We also sang at our church, First Wesleyan Methodist Church in the junior choir, and later in the young adult choir. Our father was the minister of music, and our mother was over the young adult choir.  I was privileged to sing with the senior choir as a teen, because I could sing both soprano, and alto, and the choir was in need of altos.
As a teen, I sang throughout grade school, and junior high, in West Carrollton, Ohio, and played the clarinet. In high school, I sang with various groups, and excelled on the clarinet. While at Roth High School, I was honored to be nominated for the John Phillip Sousa Award, but was not eligible to receive the award, because I was not able to attend the first semester of my senior year.
I retired with thirty six years of government service; after retirement, I took newborn babies pictures at Dayton area hospitals. I am the mother of two daughters, eight grandchildren, and twenty-four great-grandchildren; with my husband's count of children, and grandchildren, the number is astronomical. I am currently working part-time at the United Theological Seminary. I am also the Tot's Church leader and music director for children ages two to five, at Omega Baptist Church. I am a choir member; a previous praise team member; an associate minister; a Sunday school teacher; and along with my husband, co-leader of the prayer ministry. I am currently enrolled in (CPE), Clinical Pastoral Education, and serving as an intern chaplain at Dayton's Children Hospital. I previously did student chaplaincy at Dayton's VA. I am a member of (ITC), International Training In Communication; the (GMWA), Gospel Music Workshop of America; Sammy Stevens and Ephesians Gospel Singing Group, who are now  part of my family group, Wilson Family and Friends;former member of the Daytona Chorale; and have been a part of many choirs, singing groups, and ensembles. My hobbies are singing, reading, watching movies, and listening to music, particularly classical, gospel and jazz.
