About Me

Arlie hails from Garner, NC. A summa cum laude graduate of East Carolina University, She was honored to receive the 2015 Outstanding Senior Award for the East Carolina University Department of Vocal Studies. She has sung in numerous operas, recent roles including Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Miss Silverpeal in Der Schauspieldirektor, Anne (Cover) in The Rake’s Progress, and Elvira in L’italiana in Algeri. In 2017, she completed her Masters degree in Vocal Performance at Louisiana State University.

Arlie has sung in venues ranging from the Spectrum Center to Carnegie Hall, and has performed the National Anthem for the North Carolina Symphony, ECU Spring Commencement, the NC Veterans Day ceremony, as well as the North Carolina State Fair. In addition to singing with the female a capella group the Magnolia Belles, Arlie was also a member of the internationally recognized East Carolina University Chamber Singers.

In 2012, Arlie was honored to receive the Miss North Carolina Overall Talent award as well as a Talent Preliminary award, and went on to become the 75th Miss North Carolina. She had the opportunity to travel the state over the course of a year speaking and performing, and she received a Most Talented Non-Finalist award at the 2013 Miss America Pageant.

Arlie worked as the soprano section leader and Worship Arts instructor at Jarvis United Methodist Church, where she organized an “Instrument Petting Zoo” with the women of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority and led a weekly music program for elementary schoolers. From 2011 to 2015, she served as the Music Director for the Towne Players Summer Theatre Camp in her hometown. She is currently engaged as the Soprano Section Leader at Gonzales United Methodist Church.

Offstage, Arlie served as the Graduate Assistant for Visits through Experience LSU. At East Carolina, Arlie served as the secretary of the ECU Student chapter of the National Teachers of Singing organization in its inaugural semester. She was a charter member of the Lamba Iota chapter of Phi Mu Women's Fraternity, and an East Carolina University Ambassador. In her spare time, she enjoys assisting with social media for the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Organization and promoting volunteerism through her platform, The Domino Effect. Arlie partnered with critically acclaimed theatre company The Towne Players to create the Henry Sanchez Memorial Scholarship Fund in her hometown, raising thousands of dollars to send local children to summer theatre camp since 2007.
