Nicoleis a soprano who teaches voice and piano. She holds a B.M. in music education and recently received a M.M. in Vocal Performance. Prior to receiving her Master’s degree, she taught elementary music for 6 years, choir directed for 7 years, music directed for 6 years and has taught private voice and piano lessons for 6 years. Nicole enjoys teaching students of all experience levels in classical, musical theatre, jazz and pop; and she is skilled in finding each student’s strengths and helping them gain the tools necessary to succeed. Currently, Nicole is a soprano with Aperi Animam and is the female vocalist for funk band Montage. Recently, Nicole was seen performing with UW-Milwaukee in their world premier of Kirsti and the Priest, as Kirsti, and The Choice, as Crew Member One. Previously, she performed as Vitellia in La clemenza di Tito with Milwaukee Opera Theatre and UW-Milwaukee. Her other notable performances were as Princess Winnifred (Once Upon a Mattress), Marian Paroo (The Music Man), Celia Peachum (Threepenny Opera), Gwendolen (Ernest in Love), Hope Cladwell (Urinetown), and Barbarina (Le Nozze di Figaro). She has also performed with the Wisconsin Chamber Choir in Madison as a soloist in Bach’s Magnificat and Zelenka’s Magnificat.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
I gear my teaching style to each student. My lessons will focus on whatever is wanted/needed by the student. Which means that we do not have to focus on classical, if that is not what is desired by the student. All styles are relevant, and I will do all I can to make the experience educational and enjoyable for the student. My goal is to give each student the tools needed so that they can eventually learn and thrive without a teacher (if they so chose).
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
Students should plan on purchasing books from the Alfred Basic Piano library. We stick pretty closely to them for beginners, but I also cater to the needs of each student.

Performing Experience:
In college, I was the lead performer in various plays and musicals including: Â Urinetown, Three Penny Opera, The Skin of Our Teeth, and Peterpan. Â I've also performed in community theatre shows such as The Music Man as Marian the Librarian. Â I also sing with the Wisconsin Chamber Choir in Madison, and I've been a soloist in many of their songs. While at graduate school, I have performed in opera scenes, in La Clemenza di Tito as Vitellia, and in our mini operas World Premiere composed by Milwaukee natives as Kirsti in Kirsti and the Priest and Crew 1 in The Choice.
Experience Teaching:
Before attending graduate school, I was an elementary music teacher at Rockwell and Barrie Elementary schools in Fort Atkinson for 5 years, and for a year, I was a middle school music and choir director at Fruzen Intermediate School in Beloit. I was also a choir director at First English Lutheran Church for 7 years, and I've taught private voice lessons for nearly 9 years now.
