Courtney was born in 1986 in California, USA but was raised in Burrell Boom Village, Belize District, Belize. She began her violin studies at the age of 10 at the Pallotti School of Music in Belize City under the tutalage of Francin Murrillo and later with Daniela Gongora and Colville Young Jr. She has a Diploma in Music Performance (Violin) from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in London (ABRSM) and a minor in Music from Xavier University in Cincinnati OH where she studied under Brittany Kotheimer-MacWilliams. She has attended the Oakville Performing Arts Day Camp in Oakville ON, Canada (2003, 2009 and 2012) as well as the Starling-Delay Symposium on Violin Pedagogy at The Juilliard School in 2013. An alumni of the YOA's Global Leader's Programme (2) Courtney was the first Belizean to become a member of the YOA and has participated in two previous tours (2013 and 2014). She is a certified Suzuki Book 1 instructor and has taught violin and viola at the Pallotti School of Music and with the National Youth Orchestra and Choir of Belize.

She leads by example and her coworkers are inspired by her ethics and dedication. She is able to communicate with people of all ages. She has her students' best interest at heart and is always willing to go the extra mile. She always instills best practices with her students. Courtney has imparted her love and enthusiasm of playing vioilin into all the students she has taught over the years.
