During my 5 years at Baldwin Wallace University, I have studied various classical and orchestral percussion instruments as well as non-western percussion from various regions including West Africa, Cuba, Jamaica, and Brazil. At a young age, I started my musical journey playing bass guitar with my church's worship band, and still currently play with them. I am an emerging music therapist and implement my skills in percussion, guitar, and voice to create individual and unique musical experiences for my clients. Music is an amazing form of human expression and has been shown through research to help children's academic performance and individual growth. I look forward to working with musicians and helping them to reach their musical and personal goals! Recently I moved to Nashville and began playing with a country rock band and we have toured around the Midwest and look forward to more gigs locally!

Experience Teaching:
I have taught percussion and guitar to students between the ages of 8 and 15 for the past 3 years. Three of my students had developmental disabilities with various levels of functioning. Another student was a beginner and did not have any musical experience prior to our lessons. Recently, I have taught an intermediate percussionist who needed help preparing for his audition for his high school jazz band. The past 5 summers I have taught at a music camp for middle school students. During the camp, the students had 5 days to learn new music and then perform it for their friends and family. Currently, I teach drums for middle school age kids during an afterschool program for kids with poor academic performance and low-income families. I feel comfortable teaching students at any musical level. However, I enjoy working with beginning musicians and helping them develop concrete fundamentals that will guide them throughout their musical careers.
