Originally from Tampa, FL, Chris began his musical training playing drums in the second grade and picked up the trombone upon entering middle school, eventually making it his primary instrument. After graduating from Howard W. Blake High School, Chris began college at the University of South Florida in Tampa before transferring to Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL where he studied Music Education and Jazz Studies. While there he was an active member of many performing musical ensembles on campus including The Marching "100", Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band 1, Jazz Combo, Brass Ensemble, Trombone Octet, and Trombone Band. In the summer of 2012 he moved to New Orleans to begin a career as a professional trombone player and since then has performed and toured with many ensembles including Free Spirit Brass Band, The Caesar Brothers Funk Box, James Andrews and the Crescent City All-Stars, The Yisrael Band, Soul Company, Trumpet Black & The Heart Attacks and many more. Chris is also currently playing with Lagniappe Brass Band, The Heart Attacks, Ron Williams, The Saint Roch All-Stars, Gene's Music Machine, and more as a freelance performer, as well as BOOC The Band.

Performing Experience:
My first paid gig was when I was in the 5th grade in 1999. Performed professionally and with school ensembles all the way up until moving to New Orleans in 2012 where Ive been playing professionally full time ever since.
Experience Teaching:
As a current, returning member of the band staff at Howard W. Blake high school in Tampa, FL I've been in charge of instructing various instrumental sections throughout the band but focussed mostly on the brasses (trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, and tuba) and lower brasses in particular. I'm often asked to run full band rehearsals on and off the field as well. As the staff arranger I teach the music I write for the band often under time constraints. Have had several students through the years go on to be successful in their HS and college programs.
