Summer C.

Summer was raised in Birmingham where her passion for music and theater began at the age of 4.  She studied music and education on a vocal scholarship at Jacksonville State University and brings with her over 30 years of experience in musical theater, voice, modeling, pageantry and  dance.  She has played in several productions including Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, South Pacific, Aida, Cotton Patch Gospel, and Rebel Without a Cause.  Summer has also been involved in pageants where she has received multiple awards such as Most Talented, Miss Congeniality and Overall.   As part of her formal vocal training, Summer gained experience in a variety of musical genres including classical, jazz, contemporary, country and R&B. Before moving to Mobile with her two children in 2011, Summer was a worship leader and Children’s Worship Leader in Birmingham as well as one of the vocalist for the Kevin Derryberry Band.  In 2009 and 2010, she provided background vocals for the Matthew 25 project and traveled with the band to perform at numerous events including Stadiumfest- opening for Jeremy Camp, Toby Mac, and Chris Tomlin.  One of Summer’s core beliefs is giving back to the community by sharing her gifts of music, acting, dance and modeling. Summer taught voice at Innovative Arts Academy in Mobile, AL under Jeff Jones (former drummer of Big Daddy Weave) and knows how important it is to help her students feel confident regardless of their skill level.  She creates a learning environment that is enjoyable for all ages and loves watching her students grow. As a benefactor of great vocal and acting teachers throughout her life, Summer believes strongly in investing everything she has into the lives of her students.   Summer has coached numerous students who have gone on to receive modeling contracts, vocal scholarships, dance scholarships and pageant awards.
