What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner -
I will expect the students to have a strong interest in music and will ask about their favorite artists and songs. I will also expect the students to be open to writing in multiple genres for a variety of different instruments.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner -
I will come with sheet music and if there is n piano in the home I will bring my keyboard. Depending on the age I will have practice logs for each student. In addition to learning voice I will teach each student music theory as well as how to read music.
Formal Education:
B.A. in music composition with a focus in sonic arts technology from Ball State University, 2016
Private Education:
Composition lessons with Dr. Derek Johnson, Dr. Keith Kothman, Dr. Michael Pounds, Dr. Daniel Swilley, and Dr. Eli Fieldsteel. Classical Voice lessons with Dr. Stephen Rickards, and Dr. Beth Truitt.
Performing Experience:
Ten year of performing classical voice. I have also performed my own original composition and recently gave a concert showcasing my work.
Experience Teaching:
I have assisted in teaching at music summer camps, I also taught a choir my orginal music.
