I am originally from Texas. I made my way to Bossier by a parent who retired from the military. Music has always been a huge part of my life as I grew up being exposed to it from both sides of my family, but mainly my mother's side. All of her siblings, as well as herself, are very musically talented. Being exposed to piano and church choir as well as many great musicians being played in our household really inteigued my interest in music. I played flute most of my school years until I was a freshman in high school, so I had experience with reading music. It wasn't until I attended college when I was really challenged with my capabilities because as an interest in majoring in music performance I had to take the classes required. I studied Music Theory, Voice, Piano, and Music History. I have been out of college for seven years now and although I am a bit rusty at what all has been learned it is all for the most part still inbeaded in my knowledge. I have aspirations of becoming a professional musician/performer and am trying to find ways to help blossom into the realm of it all. Since I have been back in Shreveport/Bossier I have not had much luck. I feel that getting back into the basics of it all will help me, not only in a sense of helping others who need it or are interested but help me to get back to the foundation of everything revolving around the basic elements of music. This job seems like a good fit for my interest and will definately be something new being that I have always been the student in the situation. I would be delighted to be a part of somethibg so positive and beneficial to others who may seek the same goal as myself.
