Kyle C.-

A native of West Palm Beach Florida, Kyle credits include leading roles of J. Pierpont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Gary/Rodger in Noises Off, Bernardo in West Side Story, Chip Tolentino in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and Benny in In the Heights. Kyle has been recognized with awards such as 1st place in Freshmen Men's Musical Theater and 2nd place Freshmen Men's Classical Voice categories the 2016 NATS North Florida Vocal Competition. As a composer, Kyle is greatly influenced by Spanish and Latin American folk and popular musics, along with late romantic and impressionist composers. He has written over 20 pieces of art song, SATB choir, and for small chamber ensembles, solo jazz guitar, solo classical guitar, solo oboe, and solo piano. His current composing position is as musical director, arranger/composer, and lead guitarist for Fellowship Church. Kyle is a student at the School of Music of The University of Florida, where he studies vocal performance (BM) with Dr. Tony Offerle, and composition (BM) with rotating members of the composition faculty. His previous training includes a six-month apprenticeship with Palm Beach Opera in Dr. Jourdan L. Howell’s PBO Studio, along with four years of study with DMA candidate Stephanie Nixdorf in voice, score analysis, theory, and stage performance. Kyle is a graduate of the Suncoast High School International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme.
