My award-winning techniques are tested and utilized on the stage from acapella to live bands, and even symphonies behind me. My method is iron clad, not theoretical or purely academic being tested through seasons of relentless shows, sessions, and teaching schedules. It's one thing to know technique, it's another to have the experience to use it extensively on a professional level. Not only do I help my students grow as vocalists, I also help them get into the studio! My students have recorded numerous songs with engineers from cover tunes to entire original albums released on streaming services. Performing is the passion of my life, I love sharing the fruits of my years of laboring, I was and always am hungry to learn more about the voice.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

I teach a style of singing created from a history of studying contemporary and classical music for over 6 years. This is combined with 10 years of performing as a professional vocalist in multiple genres, from rock, to metal, funk, theater and many others. I specialize in dealing with anxiety, how to approach singing with a positive mindset as well as equipping vocalists of all skill backgrounds with new techniques to further their abilities.

Rob is a great guy and very serious about his training
I met Rob B. during an audition for a lead role in the Baltimore Rock Opera Society's Valhella. This was a large role that needed to carry the show with incredible vocal talent and Rob impressed everybody on the directing team over and over throughout the course of the next few months. He was an extremely positive force on our team, both as a actor/performer, vocal coach and team player. He was eager for feedback, easy to work with, and always had another trick up his sleeve to cope with any number of vocal challenges. His knowledge of vocal training is deep and includes technique from classical vocal, opera, musical theater and any style of rock and roll or metal you could possibly desire to know about. In addition he has a love for vocal training that shows through in his enthusiasm for the subject. He willingly shares tidbits of knowledge and anecdotes from the history of rock vocal performance that enrich anybody's appreciation for the subject. I highly recommend taking vocal lessons from Rob. Working with Rob was fantastic. I wasn't sure about my vocals, so I started taking lessons from him not too long ago. He goes into great detail of what vocal exercises to practice, and how to do them. He'll also answer any question you have about vocals. Even if you can't meet him in person to do the lesson, he does offer online lessons. Robert taught my teenage son vocal lessons at a time his voice was changing-not an easy feat. He focused on head voice and ways to stretch his range without damaging his vocal chords. He even made house calls when we asked for drop-in vocal assistance before a big audition-what a nice guy! Always on time even early! and we definitely felt we got our money's worth. Great
Well with someone with little vocal knowledge i was given specifics on everything that i needed to know. The singing scale and what pitch and tone was. He made sure i improved and would not just tell me but go into detail for vocal exercises and said one amazing piece of information. Just because you don't have an amazing voice does not mean you cannot get there it's an instrument and just like every instrument you need to practice to get better. I definitely recommend him as he knows what he is talking about and will help with everything classical to rock and a few other styles.
