Hadiza S.

Born and raised in Iowa City, IA, Hadiza began learning piano at the age of 6 among many other passions that began at that time including visual art, and writing. She soon began to compete in local classical piano competition and continued to do so through high school. Among the hours spent practicing, the most memorable were those spent composing songs. Classical training and learning songs written by others, although satisfying, were never as soul replenishing as being able to get a personal experience out into the world. Singing also seemed to come naturally to the composition process, but because of detours in destiny, songwriting didn't take the forefront of her time. After a hiatus from performance during her years in college she quickly got back into the swing of things upon moving to New York City after graduation. There, she participated in numerous blues jams housed in the McKibbin Lofts. Summer of 2013, she collaborated with various up and coming artists providing keyboard and piano samples to projects ranging in genres from hip hop, to pop, to blues to jazz. At this point, Hadiza wasn't singing...publicly.

Fall 2013, Hadiza moved back to Atlanta to pursue a new day job in business development. She spent the year of 2014 composing songs as a way to deal with the daily grind of corporate America.

Only recently has she decided to share her songs at every opportunity presented. Since March of 2015, Hadiza has been performing at various venues and in various iterations across Atlanta: as a vocalist, as a vocalist-keyboardist, and as a keyboardist/pianist.
