Graduate of North Texas State w/ Bachelor of Music Education major in piano & voice. Studied under well known pianist Larry Walz & studied voice under Virginia Botkin. Was the lead character, Margarite, in the opera "Faust" under the direction of Eugene Conley of the Metropolitan Opera. I was also accompaniment for some of the singers in the production. I studied piano from 7 years of age through to college. After college I studied piano under Mrs. Stephen Harbicheck and voice under Mr. Stephen Harbicheck, of U of H.
Melody Be. - has over 40 years of music experience in the Houston area.

Piano & voice major w/ Bachelor of Music Education degree - North Texas State University

Performing Experience:
Piano & voice recitals at North Texas State Performed piano & voice in the Christian Music circuit. Played & sang for Pat Robertson, 700 Club. Performed & accompanied for Demus Shakarian in hotel ballrooms & for Full Gospel Men's Fellowship. Sang & played for Women's Aglow Christian Fellowship. I sang & played from Kingsville, Texas & numerous other states. I did vocals & piano on a record for the wife of a Chinese minister & his wife. The songs were classical music with Christian lyrics. In high school I won all the music awards: the DAR award, most all around outstanding girl, All Region Band, All State Choir & was the pianist for the high school choir.
Experience Teaching:
I've taught piano & voice for 40 years. I began teaching private piano & voice when I was 23. I was a substitute teacher for Cy-Fair ISD from 1982-1985. I then taught full time music on the elementary level for Klein ISD from 1985-2000. I had outstanding reviews all 20 years; plus I taught 17 students private lessons in my home during the same time period. I also taught piano in a local studio for 3 years. I've had a very long & rich performing & teaching career. I'm a very good teacher with lots of success. Some of my students have gone on to major in music. In the school system I taught 400 students each year & many have said I was their favorite teacher throughout their school years. I work very hard to make my lessons interesting & enjoyable as well as challenging for my students. I continue to teach piano out of my home studio & am looking for more students.
