I have been playing music since I was 13 years old. I began playing guitar and that quickly grew into my desire to pursue other instrumental adventures. By the time I graduated high school I was playing drums, piano, bass guitar, and the guitar. I continued my education at the University of West Georgia where I majored in percussion performance. I graduated from UWG in 2014 with my bachelor's degree. Along the way I have been in many different bands and ensembles. At UWG I was the principal percussionist for the Wind Ensemble. I was also the bass player in the jazz ensemble and a member of the percussion ensemble. Beyond these groups I was called in to play with other ensembles which allowed me to perform with the brass ensemble, the chorus, and even with the opera. My musicianship extends beyond school where I have been in different bands with genres ranging from the mellow reggae tones of Blissdog to the angry punk of War Revenge, and even a strange mixture of the two when I performed as the bass player and singer of Plaid Rabbit. I have been in jazz bands outside of school and have played at weddings and church ceremonies. It is amazing how much music has been a part of my life and I learn to love it a little bit more everyday. Whether I am performing, teaching, or just sitting in the audience I feel extremely elated to be a part of music in the community.
