Review About Me
I use a traditional approach to teaching piano and organ - initially learning lines and spaces and names of notes, counting aloud, clapping rhythms, etc. I use Thompson, Schaum, Burnam, d'Auberge, etc. piano methods for young beginners. Later, I might transfer to Alfred, Bastien, or Faber & Faber or another series, depending on the student.
My goal is to cater to each individual student in order to meet their musical needs. We might work on rock/n/roll, or country, or jazz, or musicals, or classical music or church music or what ever interests the student.
In voice lessons, I teach diaphragmatic breathing and vocal exercises to enhance the voice. As with piano and organ lessons, I would also cater to the student. We would work on music that interests the student.
I have taught many genres of music , but my favorite is probably Broadway or musicals.

Performing Experience:
I began singing in church and community events when I was very young (4 yrs old) - I still sing in church
Began playing the piano for church and school choirs at age 12. - continued to present.
I play the piano and organ for funerals and weddings.
Have played piano bar in restaurants and hotels and back ground music for events - banquets, teas, etc.
I currently play for a melodrama/vaudeville company.
Experience Teaching:
I began teaching piano lessons at age 15 and continue to present.
Began teaching voice lessons and organ lessons in college and continue to present.
