Review About Me
I am a steadily gigging guitarist, composer, producer, bass guitarist, and DJ. For the last year I lived in Chennai, India and taught music at the college level. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Detroit is my new home. I perform at venues such as Flood's and Cliff Bell's with Detroit artists such as Jon Dixon and De'Sean Jones. I play jazz, soul, funk, R&B, gospel, blues, rock, and metal on guitar, and produce various genres of electronic music using Ableton Live. In January 2014 I will be releasing an album under my producer moniker, Radrick, on an independent Detroit record label. In my project I combine guitar and vocal based compositions with EDM and hip hop production.

Formal Education:
Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Guitar, Oberlin Conservatory of Music, class of 2012. Graduate of the diploma program at The Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, Chennai, India in studies of Applied Indian Classical Music.
Private Education:
Private studies in guitar since age seven. Extensive private and self-directed studies in jazz improvisation, Indian classical music, Western classical music theory, music production, blues improvisation, and more. Studies with artists such as Jamey Haddad and Dan Wall.
Performing Experience:
I have been gigging professionally in the Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Detroit areas since 2006. Clubs, public functions, private events, corporate events, restaurants, and more on guitar, electric bass, and DJing. I have performed at venues all across India including clubs in Chennai, Bombay, and Bangalore.
Experience Teaching:
One academic year's experience teaching classes at the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, India's premier institution for jazz and Western music studies. At the school I was the official instructor for the following courses: Advanced Jazz Guitar Improvisation, Contemporary Music Theory I & II, Harmony I & II, Ear Training I & II, Guitar Sight Reading Lab, Performance Ensemble, Reading Rhythms, Music Notation, Basic Piano Technique, Guitar Technique Lab. Three years teaching experience as a Secondary Jazz Guitar professor at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. Five years private lesson teaching experience in all genres and ability levels. Instructed students as young as seven up to adults.
