About Me
I am a multi-instrumentalist and solo recording artist based in Tucson, Arizona, USA. I have been playing and writing my own music for as long as I can remember. In my teens and throughout my twenties and thirties I was in many different bands and played at many different venues. Some of the more popular bands I was in are Nuthin' Fancy, Finding Zion, Lazer Totin' Lizards, Colonial Prototype, and Swinefly. In all of these bands I was either the guitarist, drummer, singer, beat programmer, or a combination of drummer/singer or guitarist/singer. I am very good at playing guitar, bass guitar, drums, percussion, keyboards, and piano. Another thing I am very good at is programming beats with digital sequencers, MIDI programs, loops, and sound generators. I have worked with a lot of other artists in this realm including rappers, DJs, and singers. With all of the musical work that I am involved in, I mix, master, and produce everything myself. I graduated from the Sheffield Institute of Recording Arts in 2002 where I gained an excellent education in sound design, sound reinforcement, digital audio, analog and digital recording, mixing, mastering, sound for video, and digital sequencing. I also studied music theory at the Community College of Baltimore County. I live out in the desert of Tucson, AZ, USA with my lovely wife Vanessa who is a special education teacher and my Father-In-Law Dan who is a retired computer programmer and electrical engineer. We all live in a double wide manufactured home on a little piece of land. I have a small 8 foot by 10 foot room where I do all of my music projects. It's a nice cozy little place and I love it Along with music, I have been working in Human Resources for about 13 years for companies that provide services for developmentally disabled adults. I love electronics, Legos, Hot Wheels, affirmations, manifestations, lifting weights, healthy eating, shooting guns, going for walks, watching movies, making music, reading, and making websites. I am very interested in philosophy and psychology and self study these subjects a lot in my free time. I have found that some of the things I have learned have enabled me to help others while I am helping myself. Some people say I have had a troubled childhood. My family was very poor and at times I was physically and mentally abused. My father had left when I was very young and I did not get to see him very much growing up. I suffered through a lot of addictions including, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and self destructive actions. In my younger days I was very depressed, felt out of place, had no direction or desire to live. In those times the world was a dark and scary place for me. I had no self confidence and no respect for myself. I just didn't care. It got so bad that I tried to commit suicide twice. Thankfully, I have worked my way through all of that. Now I am a happy, healthy, and productive member of society. Although I am a non-conformist, I do believe in trying to make the world a better place for all. One of the affirmations I listen to every day states that what a person really wants in life is a joyful, peaceful, and loving world to live in. I have made it my mission to create a joyful, loving, and peaceful world for everyone including myself.
