I have been singing since I was 5 and my love for performing has continued to grow into a professional career, as well as lead me to a passion for teaching. I am a well rounded singer, having performed from classical to pop, and specializing in musical theatre. My goals as a teacher are to inspire students to strive for excellence while fostering a love and passion for making music, to push students to become musicians rather than singers, to become artists rather than performers, and to hone their craft in a creative and encouraging learning environment. My primary focuses during voice lessons are the fundamentals of musicianship, posture, breathing, and vocal health, but my methods are creative and catered toward the individual student. It is important to experiment with many different exercises and techniques in order to maximize each student’s development. I not only use techniques taught to me by my many voice teachers, I have also created my own unique teaching vocabulary. I also strive to introduce and teach the student as many genres and styles as I can in order to create a more marketable, well rounded singer. I also make sure,of course, that students are having fun! I have a positive, high energy, extroverted "theatrical" personality that rubs off on each of my singers!
