Review About Me
I am a multi-instrumentalist who plays the guitar and bass guitar. I am also a songwriter and hail from Dallas, TX. I have been playing guitar, bass, and drums since the age of 11 with a focus on electric guitar. Since attending Berklee College of Music in Boston from 2008-2012, I've been honing my craft with many rock and funk bands throughout the northeast and beyond. My love of many different styles and approaches to writing and the "band dynamic" have led me out here to Portland, where I'm pursuing a career with my band LiquidlLight (liquidlight.bandcamp.com). I also have an EP of original music released in 2012 titled "In Parallel". In addition to performing, I have been teaching through the School of Rock company in Boston/Portland since May 2012 and have gained valuable experience leading student bands and teaching privately.

I have a B.A. in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music. Private lessons from some of Boston's premier rock and jazz guitarists. I've taken classes and labs on subjects ranging from fingerpicking blues, pedal steel, chord voicings, and even guitar effects.
Private Education:
I started piano lessons at age 7, then began to play upright bass in the school orchestra from grades 6-12. After receiving my first acoustic guitar at age 10 and electric at 13, I began taking lessons all through middle school and high school from some of the best guitarists in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Private lessons from some of Boston's premier rock and jazz guitarists. I've taken classes and labs on subjects ranging from fingerpicking blues, pedal steel, chord voicings, and even guitar effects.
Performing Experience:
Started my first band in middle school called The Axis, playing classic rock style songs (originals and covers). I've also been in several professional bands since which played a variety of shows all over New England ranging from club dates to small festivals. At present I'm a part of two groups full time here in Portland: LiquidLight, which is original rock coming from all musical angles, and Rubber Souldier which is a five piece Beatles tribute.
Experience Teaching:
I have taught lessons at a variety of locations from music stores to one on one in the home. My current teaching engagement is through School of Rock, for whom I started teaching in Boston and transfered to Portland in August 2012.
