Candice, a Soprano, is a young artist whose blossoming career has taken her to stages from Kansas City to Dublin, Ireland--from Verona, Italy to New York City.
Ms. Edwards received her M. M. degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Connecticut. There, she help a Teaching Assistantship with the Opera Workshop class. With seven years of private vocal teaching experience and a plethora of vocal pedagogy work, Candice develops vocalizes and assigns specific and individualized repertoire to help correct vocal faults, as well as developing new and necessary skills- including language skills. Many of her students have participated and achieved top scores in Districts, Honor Choirs, and All-State participation. As a performer of classical music, she teaches the fundamental singing techniques that apply to ALL styles of music. She believes in the unique sound of each individual and is ready to help each student find his/her own voice.
Along with teaching, Ms. Edwards has recently been on stage as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, the title role in Lakmé with Dublin Conservatory, and the title role in Suor Angelica in Verona, Italy. Some of her highlighted roles include Adele in Die Fledermaus, Cunegonde in Candide, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, and Yum-Yum in The Mikado. She has also made her professional debuts with several companies including: Troupers Light Opera (Matty in Hail and Reign), Simsbury Light Opera Company (Josephine in H.M.S Pinafore), and World Premieres with Hartford Opera Theater (Luciana in The Family Plan, Witch 2 in The Witches).
Along with her M.M, Ms. Edwards holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Central Missouri. She has received many awards for her vocal excellence, including winning the Quistorff Opera Aria Competition in 2007 and the UCM Concerto/Aria Competition in 2006.
