20 Years
Shane M has over 20 years of music experience in the Lacey area.
Shane M is proficient in and teaches Guitar Lessons, Bass Guitar Lessons, Drum Lessons, Song Writing Lessons .What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Song writing lessons are recommended for musicians that are already somewhat experienced on their instrument (at least one to to years is advised). In my lessons, we are going to go over the anatomy/structure of a song, and what makes a song great and memorable. In addition, we will talk about how to connect the lyrical concepts in your song to the musical elements, and how to compose and arrange sheet music/tabs for other instruments (if applicable).
What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Every lesson will begin with basic hand exercises to reduce tension in the wrist and fingers and "loosen up". After stretching out the hands, fingers, and wrists, we will tune our instruments and run through a warm-up exercise that is tailored to the student's experience level. This entire warm-up/tuning process should take between 10 and 15 minutes. The remainder of the lesson will be determined primarily by what the student wants to learn: If they are interested in specific techniques, chords, or scales, we will begin there. If they want to learn how to play specific songs, we will first highlight the techniques that they will need to learn before then applying those techniques to the song. If the student does not know what they want to focus on, then I will teach them concepts, techniques, and exercises that are appropriate for their level.
