Nathaniel has always loved music from an early age. He began playing guitar at the age of 12 and continued his education by taking lessons at age 15 from his local music shop, eventually joining a band and learning how to make sample recordings. His musical influences include Stevie Ray Vaughan, Carlos Santana, BB King Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, P-Funk, Maceo Parker, The Who, Tooooooo Mannny! Nathaniel's favorite thing about music is there is always more to learn and his favorite thing about teaching music is learning just as much from students as I teach them. One of his favorite teaching experiences was the smile on the face of any number of students when they get the song just right and they know they nailed it. When taking lessons with Nathaniel you can expect beginner lessons teaching finger positioning and basic chords, moving on to learning songs and how to play with other people, eventually setting the student up to be taught actual music theory and more advanced musical classes. What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner -
I like to start by finding out what kind of music they want to play, i.e. Rock, Blues, Metal ect. From there I start with basic chords and finger positions. After that I like to move to bar chords and covering how to communicate with other musicians while playing. Once the student gets to a level they can sit down and do some basic jamming with me and other musicians it will be time to ask the student, now that they have the ability to play with other people, what their goals moving forward are. Once we establish where they want to go it will be time to show them the path to their next gig/band/school or teacher.
Formal Education:
I attended public schools until age 16 and took my GED at 18.
Private Education:
I studied guitar from one of the local music stores in my area for about 3 years before moving on to play in a band for a few years where I learned and have kept up with the basics of recording and making samples and mixes as well as drum and bass backing tracks. I eventually studied music with a more advanced teacher in his studio where I learned the basics of how to play better with other people and how to communicate with people that had more or less training then i had. I have since then produced and copyrighted a single album I have only used in YouTube videos and other social media platforms.
Performing Experience:
I have preformed in 2 bands for a bit but have moved into the modern age of recording and learned to produce the music myself as just a hobby.
Experience Teaching:
I have taught many people how to play guitar and bass guitar over the years. The second band I was in, my bass player was taught by me.
