About Me

After years of playing in punk bands throughout the Las Vegas area and ultimately signing a record deal, recording an album with an indie rock/folk band, and recording a single with a Grammy and CMA nominated mix engineer. I've learned so much. Not only about all things music but also about myself and life. I have spent the past year having the privilege of passing on all my knowledge and experience to others interested in learning about music. Whether it be playing guitar, drums, bass, keys, music theory, music production, how to get gigs as a band just starting, how to make the best of expensive studio time, or how to run DIY shows, I am excited and eager to have the pleasure of passing on what I've learned and, learning alongside others in the process. I do everything I can in my lessons to encourage the importance of passion and consistently build upon whatever has driven someone to commit to developing themselves as a musician. I believe in the importance of understanding music as a language, and to do so there are parts of that language such as rhythm, harmonic structure, etc. that take time and dedication to understand. At the same time, I started playing music because I loved it, not because I wanted to learn about the Locrian mode, therefore, it is more important to me that someone has a genuine love and passion for music and sticks with it than it is that they know everything about music theory that there is to know. Formal Education:

I studied general music studies at Yavapai College where I played guitar in their Jazz Big Band, and drums in their Jazz Combo Band. I am currently enrolled in a trade school in which I am 4 months away from graduating with a certificate in Audio Engineering and Music Production. I am currently interning under an accomplished Audio and Mixing Engineer named Rick Rooney who has worked with many accomplished musicians such as... Stevie Nicks, Tony Bennet, B.B. King, Led Zepplin, Bob Dylan, Iggy Pop, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., Little Richard, Joe Walsh, Etc.

Private Education:

I started playing guitar when I was 8 years old and took private lessons from a private lessons studio called Mark Murphy's Music in South Orange, New Jersey. After moving to the DFW area at 10 years old, I started taking lessons through the School of Rock and had the privilege of meeting many amazing instructors, students, and musicians. A lot of whom have had a huge impact on my life and some of whom I am still in contact with today. Since then I have moved all over the country and learned a whole lot about music and life from many different teachers along the way. P.S. Performing Experience:

I started playing and performing in bands at 10 years old, through the music program at School of Rock. When I moved to Las Vegas at 16 I branched out into starting bands on my own and playing plenty of shows around the Las Vegas Metropolitan area. I have been fortunate enough to play many shows from small DIY house shows to large performance venues on the strip such as; The Venetian Hotel and Casino and The Hard Rock Cafe on the Las Vegas Strip. After moving to Arizona and playing in an Indie Folk/Rock band, I played plenty of shows around the Prescott and Sedona area. As of late, I've played shows all around DFW as a solo act. I recently started a punk band with other amazing musicians and fellow instructors, we consistently play shows around the Denton area. Feel free to ask when our next show is!!

Experience Teaching:

I started teaching formal private lessons a year ago at a music school in Flower Mound. I LOVE my job there so much and I have the most AMAZING students and co-workers.
