Hello! My name is Alex-I’m passionate about singing and coaching others to be the best vocalists they can possibly be. I started singing as a freshman in high school, and have continued to this day where I am a tenor in the Manassas Chorale and Ensemble, and employed as a tenor staff singer at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in McLean, VA. In this role, I regularly mentor and support volunteer singers. The rewarding nature of this work gave me the desire to explore one-on-one vocal coaching. I’d love to work with anyone around the Manassas area motivated to get more out of their vocals. I possess perfect pitch, which allows me to be very sensitive in detecting unwanted vocal modulations, before helping singers remedy them. I wish to specialize in helping students improve their sense of relative pitch. I believe in a practical approach to vocal coaching, where I endeavor to work primarily with musical genres that students are already interested in, and improving their sound within those vocal styles. I hope you will consider me as your next vocal instructor, and allow me to assist you in your singing journey!

Formal Education:
I hold a B.S. in Computer Science, and a minor in Mathematics from the Virginia Tech College of Engineering. Unlike other instructors with formal music degrees, my knowledge as a vocalist are purely based on my personal experience.
Performing Experience:
I have experience performing in choirs from my time as a high school freshman, in which I was selected for a solo at our all-city concert at the Hylton Performing Arts Center, which I have linked below. The following year, I had been accepted into my high school’s premier show choir group. I continued honing my vocal skills throughout high school, participating in District Choir on an annual basis. Presently, I sing tenor in the Manassas Chorale and Ensemble in my spare time. I am also employed by St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in McLean, VA as a tenor staff singer.
Experience Teaching:
I wish to be transparent with potential students that this is my first foray into one-on-one vocal coaching. I have experience in the past as a tenor section leader in high school, and my current experience as a tenor staff singer at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church in McLean, VA enables me to guide and support several volunteer singers and perform on a weekly basis.
