About Me
Sam began playing guitar at the age of 12 and has continued ever since. He also began singing at the age of 5, starting out in the children's choir at his home church and has been singing ever since. Over the years, he developed his skills further by going back to school, where he earned an associate's degree in music from Chaffey College, and is currently finishing up his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from California Baptist University in Riverside. He gained performance experience in the singing area by playing at such venues as his home church, Calvary Chapel Golden Springs in Diamond Bar, as well as at other venues across Southern California, including the Lewis Family Playhouse, where he has performed in many operas & CBU's Wallace Theater, where he has been a part of a few musical theater productions, including "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". Though Sam can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are The Beatles, which had great influence on his style of playing. Sam loves music because it is one the best forms of expression that we can cultivate within ourselves, and he loves teaching music because of his desire to see those under him grow and blossom into what they can truly be. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Sam can help you expand and enhance your playing. Sam is excited to learn how he can help you reach your musical goals. What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

What students should expect in my lessons is a simple, yet challenging approach to playing. I'm all about first starting off to see what the student's background is regarding guitar. If they are beginner/novice, then we will start them going through a guitar book (I utilize the Hal Leonard Guitar method series, however I am open to other options). If they are intermediate or advanced, my approach is slightly different, in that I see where they are in their technique and how well and proficient they are, and then work from there. I am a BIG proponent of warmup's, and there are certain warmup's I give to all my students, so students should be prepared to utlize these into their daily practices.
