About Me

Natalie has always loved music from an early age. She began playing violin at the age of six and continued her education through orchestra and choir all the way through college as a Vocal Music Major. Her musical influences include Opera, Theater, Jazz, and Gospel singing. Natalie's teaching style can best be described as technique-driven, fun, and creative. She believes that anyone can sing, sing well, and sing properly it takes to sing boldly. In her lessons, you can expect to learn proper singing techniques, expression, sight-singing, and aural skills, as well as how to let go and have some fun with music. Natalie likes to tell her students to sing boldly and make mistakes! You can't learn from an experience without the things that go wrong, and being afraid of mistakes makes it difficult to ask for help. Her favorite thing about teaching is the moment when a student clicks with the music they are performing. Her favorite performance was when she conducted Rosephanye Powell's "Ascribe to the Lord" in concert with her college choir for the composer herself! Natalie's students love that she has many ideas and can personalize lessons to the students. She primarily teaches middle school choir, but she also has been teaching private voice lessons for three years. She looks forward to getting to know you as a student and learning about your specific goals, interests, and learning styles. Book a lesson now and get connected right away!
