Hello my name is Brenda R. and I am a trained and decades-experienced voice instructor for singers of contemporary commercial music. As a voice and choral teacher it's been my focus to educate and train students of all ages and abilities in the art, technique, and theoretical application of singing contemporary music using a classically-based approach called the Bel Canto method. This approach helps you use your breath and place sound optimally and can be applied to all contemporary genres of music to help you grow strong in the style of music you want to sing. I'm confident I can help you achieve your goals! Through many years of teaching nationally and internationally, I've developed a pedagogical approach that is inclusive, nurturing, positive and one that prioritizes establishing an emotional connection to the music and lyrics so that you become a great storyteller. I also place a focus on whole-body health and vocal anatomy education so that you can maintain and take care of your instrument You! I have a BM in both Voice Performance and Songwriting double major as well as 2 years additional voice and music study in Paris, France from Le CIM and The American School for Modern Music. I have trained with 9+ of the best voice teachers in the world, all of whom have substantial performance careers. I teach in the US, Europe and Asia as well as in the New York City public and private school systems. Looking forward to meeting you!
