Hi, my name is Aja and I am a singer/ songwriter from the east coast. I have been a student of music for 30 years. My musical influences include classic and contemporary R&B, country, soul, and musical theatre and I also enjoy Hip Hop. My teaching style can best be described as natural. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I can help you navigate the path, but the only way to do it— is to do it. In my lessons, you can expect to learn, create, and develop technique, compassion, character, confidence and so much more as a vocalist. I like to tell my students preparation, hydration, and relaxation will allow you to enjoy the exercise. My favorite thing about teaching is sharing wisdom from real experience, it allows me to continue to grow. My favorite performance was a private show I put on for friends and family, allowing them to hear my music for the first time. It was unforgettable. My students love that I understand what they really need to progress. I primarily teach performance and recording prep, but I can also teach songwriting, vocal technique and more.
