About Me

The aim of a music class is to master the language of music without leaving aside the fun. Music teaching is one that arouses enthusiasm and curiosity by tuning the student's particular objectives to the singularities of repertoires that dialogue beyond the barriers of already established aesthetic currents. Teaching music is continuous learning, but the instruction it can become disadvantageous when there are no incentives to encourage good habits. In order for these habits to be established, skills and techniques are explored during classes that aim to awaken listening, in this context, practice is allied with imagination, learning an instrument is not treated as a monotonous activity, as an accurate musical practice invokes improvisation and creativity, indispensable tools in the construction of the different scenarios of music making. The musician Rodrigo graduated from UFMG Federal University of Minas Gerais. Born in Belo Horizonte, he began his career on the six strings at 11. As a teenager, he was part of a Heavy Metal band but decided to study the classical guitar in depth. After studying Harmony and Improvisation with Rubner de Abreu FEA, he joined the academy, was guided by guitarists Fernando Araújo and Flávio Barbeitas, and integrated guitar quartets and trios. He also carried out research in the area of Ethnomusicology, analyzing the chants and sounds of the TIKIMÛN MAXACALIS MG Indians. He gave musicalization classes to children at the CMI [children's musicalization center] and in kindergartens. During the year 2015, he lived in the city of Salvador where he had an intense performance in several artistic aspects, he made part of the UFBA guitar orchestra and was guided by guitarist Mario Ulloa.
