Hi, my name is Derick, and I am a guitarist/songwriter from Miami, FL. I studied jazz performance for two years and got my bachelor's in music from the University of Miami. I have been teaching contemporary music for about two years, and have written, produced, and released music. My musical influences include Metal, Rock, Jazz, Pop and I also enjoy Reggaeton. My teaching style can best be described as fun and efficient. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe in patience and showing appreciation for hard work. In my lessons, you can expect to learn basic techniques, music theory, and songwriting fundamentals. I like to tell my students to eat, sleep, and practice! My favorite thing about teaching is seeing my students evolve and grow on their instrument and apply these lessons to their personal growth. My students love that I can shred with my guitar on my back! I primarily teach guitar, but I can also teach ukulele. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
