Hi, My name is Tristan. I've been a musician for nearly half my life, studying many forms of music from around the world. From rock, metal, and ska, to folk, country, jam band and more. My parents wanted me to be an opera singer, but I wanted to explore other musical expressions. As a singer, I studied voice for over 10 years, and I've sung with many choirs and groups in front of thousands of people. I have performed on tour with several bands and have done studio recordings with some amazing people. Through school, I learned many instruments and found a love for guitar, bass, and mandolin. As a songwriter, I have worked solo and collaborated with many artists of different genres. My. goal as a writer being to reverberate universally through introspective expression so as to connect with as many people as possible. I studied West African music with the Senegalese National Choir and Ballet for 8 years primarily on djembe and dun dun. Playing bouzouki, dumbec and riq, I studied middle eastern music for 5 years and worked for Renaissance Entertainment Productions composing the music for their plays and bellydancing shows. I think I mostly enjoy teaching beginner level students because I like seeing the transformation as they come to realize how fun and easy music can be. Sometimes people feel intimidated because they think they can't be as great as what they hear on the radio so they never even try. With a little encouragement and some fundamental building blocks, we can create opuses and we can move mountains. Some of the most beloved songs are also some of the most simple.
