Hi, my name is Maniya and I am a singer from New York. I have been a student of music for 14 years. My musical influences include Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, And Aretha Franklin just to name a few. I also enjoy sketching, cooking, going on walks, and spending time with my friends and family. My teaching style can best be described as Super fun and helpful. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I like to. In my lessons, you can expect to learn melody, pitch, and control. I like to tell my students you have to start somewhere. It takes dedication and hard work to get something you want or need. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing how each of my students learns and grows in their own beautiful way. I love when they have that “lightbulb” moment. My favorite performance was when I sang background vocals for Ariana Grande. It was my first break on national TV! I was only 15 and so excited and eager to learn about EVERYTHING music. Especially behind-the-scenes things that you don’t really hear about. My students love that I encourage them and meet them where they are. I primarily teach R&B, soul, gospel, pop, and musical theater, but I can also teach jazz and classical.
