Having studied audio engineering at the University of Denver, I can teach students the basics of how to record and produce music, as well as more advanced techniques such as how to mix, and master music in many genres at a professional level. As a bass player, I can make sure students are using proper technique, learn to read notation, and learn to play in a variety of genres and contexts. From walking bass in jazz and improvising solos, to playing funky slap bass, or creating melodic rock bass lines, students will learn a variety of skills on their instrument.

As a songwriter for multiple successful projects, and a composer for many of the University of Denver's ensembles, I can help students craft songs in a variety of genres. Students will study from many perspectives including learning the theory behind many popular songs, jazz theory, classical theory, and more. They can also study lyric writing with me, including reading and analyzing poetry.

I like to take a goal driven approach with guitar lessons. I will often ask students to set one month, 3 month, 6 month, and 1 year goals. I will then help them create actionable steps to achieve those goals as well as focusing lesson plans around achieving them. If a student wants to play in a rock band and go on tour, the things we work on in lessons will look a lot different than if a student is looking to prepare an audition to a jazz guitar program at a college or university. Luckily, I have accomplished both, and can help any student do the same. From working on technique, to reading notation, and learning to improvise in many contexts and genre's, students can learn a variety of techniques from me to become a successful musician.
