Aletheia has always loved music from an early age. She began singing in front of her church at the age of six years old and continued her education by receiving classical piano and vocal lessons from her mother who was a certified music teacher. From there Aletheia went on to form two music groups in her formative years and was featured as a background vocalist on a few various albums in South Florida. She has led worship at her home church for the past four years located in Charlotte NC. Her musical influences include everything from Bach, Bob Marley, and Ella Fitzgerald to Sade, India Arie, and Alicia Keys. Aletheia's favorite thing about music is that it allows people to enter into another world that allows them to express their emotions, which in turn creates a safe space for others to enter that world with them. Her favorite thing about teaching music is seeing a student light up with confidence and pride in doing something that they love. One of her favorite teaching experiences was when she gave a teen in her church's youth group vocal lessons. The young woman went from feeling insecure and comparing her musical abilities to others, to leading worship confidently in front of her peers!
