Hello Musicians, My name is Sarah. Classically trained violinist and pianist who loves working with students of all ages. I obtain a Master's in Music for violin Performance from the University of Miami. Violin has been my instrument for 26 years and piano, 23. I recently taught as an orchestral director in Miami-Dade public schools. Experiences include elementary to high school students. I have taught privately and in groups as well for many years. Excited to welcome new students here in Jacksonville !! Overall, I have been teaching for about 16 years. I have experience teaching chamber ensembles, orchestra, technique classes, and preparing students all over for auditions and state competitions. I also like to arrange studio recitals when I feel the student has made progress to keep them motivated!! My main goal is to keep my music lessons interesting and exciting as well as accomplish the music goal for all of my students. Welcoming students of all ages and levels from beginner to intermediate! I am not officially set to one method and am pretty flexible towards the students’ wants and needs. Each student learns differently and at their own pace. In the first lesson, I feel it is important to understand the interest of the student and continue instruction based on that. Keeping my students engaged is of utmost importance. Students will learn how to read notes and understand music theory. Each student is different. By monitoring the students' interest, I encourage them to set a goal of practice for the month, and each month that goal time increases little by little. Understanding how to read music and music theory is very important when learning any instrument. The student will be able to play any and all kinds of music if note reading has been taught. Each lesson I set a goal for the following week which is always easy to accomplish with practice. Practice makes permanent!!
