Mya has had a love for music since the tender age of 5 years old. She has been writing music since she could write words. Growing up in a musical household, her father was minister of music of their home church. She sang in the choir then and started playing clarinet in the sixth grade. Now, she sings in the choral program at UALR and the church choir of Saint Mark Episcopal Church. She enjoys performing, but more than that, she enjoys teaching. Pursuing a degree in Music Education at UALR, Mya has taught music at Bale Elementary and Stephans Elementary. She specializes in engaging children in music, but not only children, adults/young adults as well. With each lesson specific to the goals/skills of the clients, Mya uses educational methods to cater to learning abilities.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students should expect to learn techniques that strengthen any singing style they choose. We will use these techniques while singing whichever style. Being sure to sing each style through techniques specific to each style.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students should expect to learn diverse styles of writing. We will dissect writing styles from the student's influential songwriters and incorporate them in song writing techniques. We will have drills to transfer writing styles in songwriting and build songwriting techniques starting from what the students know. When we establish what is known, we will add more techniques to sharpen what is known.

My singing/songwriting lesson with Mya was amazing! She surpassed every expectation leading me in the right direction with my voice and writing.
