Review About Me
I am a graduate of Western Michigan University. I possess a Bachelor of Music in music composition and have been previously certified to teach Music K-12 in the State of Michigan. I currently provide private study in the disciplines of: Strings, Guitar, Piano, Electric bass and music theory. Over the past 26 years I have performed in virtually every genre, recorded on several projects and have written plenty of original music. My goal is to provide quality musical experiences for all of my students no matter what their level of knowledge. My students gain an understanding of music theory as they gain knowledge of technique on their chosen instrument. I feel preparing the student to be self-sufficient in their journey in music is important.

Performing Experience:
I started, of course, in several basement bands growing-up. I attended Jackson Community College for 2 years straight out of high school. While at J.C.C. I performed in several school ensembles such as: J. C. C. Jazz Band, J. C. C. Symphonic Band and Jackson Community Concert Band. I transferred to Western Michigan University where I gained more performance experience in the following ensembles: Gold Company 2 (a vocal jazz group in which I played in the rhythm section) and the University Orchestra at WMU. I was a member of the Battle Creek Symphony Orchestra (2 years) and performed as a substitute with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra as well as the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra. I performed in a pit orchestra behind the famed Red Skelton at the Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek Michigan. I performed for two years in shows at Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky Ohio. I currently and for the past several years have been performing with MANY local groups in and around the Mid-Michigan area as a freelance musician. I also have experience recording music professionally on several projects as a studio musician.
Experience Teaching:
My teaching experience ranges from the formal public school settings to private settings. I also work as a substitute teacher in many of the school systems around my home.
