Hi, my name is Shanel and I am a Singer from Miami, FL. I have been singing for over 17 years and have been passionate about making and listening to music my entire life. Some of my musical influences include Etta James, Amy Winehouse, Donny Hathaway, and Whitney Houston. I focus on teaching vocal technique, rather than style coaching so that singers of any genre of music benefit from my instruction. I believe every singer or aspiring musician can grow a lot simply by being listened to with a refined ear, and a better understanding of what it is they're currently doing and how to improve and expand just that. In my lessons, you can expect to learn how to improve using your voice similarly to how you would expect to learn any other instrument. I myself have been taking voice lessons on and off for about 14 years, and have learned many techniques that really help you gain control of your sound. My favorite thing about teaching is sharing my love for music and helping students see that they too have what it takes to sound like their favorite artists. My students love that I'm young and open-minded to different teaching methods. I primarily teach kids as young as 6 years old all the way up to high school students, but I have experience and certainly no issue instructing adults as well.
