I began jazz and classical guitar studies in 1969. I spent approximately 2 years in junior and state college music studies from 74 to 76 in San Bernadino, Ca.

I began playing pro in 1974 until 2009 in California, Arizona, and Seattle, Wa.

I began teaching 1976 and have taught in Redlands, San Bernadino and Riverside California, Yachats Oregon, Phoenix, Az. and Seattle, Wa. until 2010.

I began my musical career playing classic rock. I switched to jazz, blues, latin and soft rock playing in "pick up" bands. Most recently I've played in free improv groups and trio playing the music of Thelonius Monk.

I am able to teach theory, guitar and electric bass. I also have some skill in using recording, editing and notation software.

Some of my main influences are Hendrix, Coltrane and Robert Johnson.

I try to be open to a student's wants and needs. Does he or she want to learn mainly songs or a particular style and maybe some theory and ear training? I have access to tablature and notation for many thousands of songs both old and new and can transpose and simplify the songs to make them easy for beginners.
