Derek began playing piano at the age of 6 and is now a 21 year old graduate student at the University of Florida pursuing a Master of Music MM degree. Over the years, he developed his skills further by studying piano performance at the University of Central Florida and receiving a BM degree. He gained performance experience in the Orlando area by playing at such venues as the UCF Concert Hall and retirement homes and churches in the Orlando and Jacksonville area. Though Derek can teach many genres of music, his musical personal favorite is classical, which had great influence on his style of playing. Derek loves music because it has such an amazing impact on the lives of many and loves teaching music because he is able to share what he has learned throughout his many years of studying piano with the rest of the world. Whether you are a beginner or a very advanced player, Derek can help you expand and enhance your playing. Derek is excited to learn how he can help you reach your musical goals. What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
Students can expect to pushed further and further with every lesson, but have a fun time doing so! I want lessons to have a rewarding and positive experience so that students are truly able to see their growth over time. I am all about setting small, attainable, goals that slowly but surely progress toward what my students dream to accomplish.

Performed at multiple retirement home venues and churches. Competitions, and has performed two major recitals at UCF (Junior/Senior Recitals, 45 min of memorized classical repertoire)
