Hi, my name’s Travis, I’m a private guitar and piano instructor! Music has been my greatest passion since the moment I picked up a guitar at 16 years old. I can both play and instruct in a variety of styles, including blues, rock, metal, and jazz. I can also show students how to play classical piano. I got my music degree from Metropolitan State University, and I incorporate much of the theory and musicianship I gained there into my lessons. Both my guitar and piano students can expect to get know their instruments incredibly well during our lessons, and we will implement theory concepts on our instruments that we understand them both in theory and in practice. I also really want my students to enjoy their lessons, so we can go over whatever song/piece/composition they would have an interest in playing! I can be flexible and I always try to tailor my lessons to each individual student! Thank you for taking a look at my profile, and I hope to hear from you soon!

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
One of the biggest things I want to instill into my students is total knowledge of the fretboard so that my students know how to improvise in whatever musical context they may find themselves. Fretboard mastery is absolutely essential to take any student’s playing to the next level. In the process, we will go over essential theory concepts and apply them through learning student’s favorite songs and playing in their favorite styles to ensure that the student’s interest is retained.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Beginner
Similar to my guitars lessons, I instruct students so that they can have absolute knowledge of their instrument. This means knowing how the navigate the keyboard efficiently and completely understanding the keyboard’s layout. In addition to this, I will work with my students on other aspects of playing, which include learning to read music, understanding rhythm, different time and key signatures, and how to play in any key they like. Also like my guitar lessons, my students will also have the chance to learn their favorite songs in the process of gaining their theory knowledge.
