Music has always been a huge part of my life and it is my passion to bring the joy of music to others. Music is a universal language that brings others together come together; the ability to teach others and see their eyes light up and follow their dreams is the greatest gift. When Luke was a child he took lessons in steel drums, marimbas, dulcimer, taiko drums, voice, piano, and trumpet. He began performing when he was a child with Dr. Rudophs' School of Music. At the same time, Luke was in the Roanoke College Children's Choir where he was taught how to classically sing and performed throughout the years with the choir. Luke began playing piano at the age of twelve and began playing the trumpet at the age of thirteen where he was taught by a classically trained trumpet player. Over the years, he developed his skills further by being taught by a classically trained pianist who used to travel. He gained performance experience in piano, trumpet, and voice by playing at many venues. He began playing as a music minister for several churches from the age of twelve and played for several weddings and funerals throughout the years. In middle school, Luke tried out for the high school marching band and made the cut to play the trumpet. He was accepted into the symphonic band and was lead trumpet as a freshman in high school. Luke tried out for the Roanoke Youth Symphony Orchestra and continued with the orchestra through high school, which furthered his training in trumpet and knowledge of orchestral music. Luke successfully made it as the first chair in the All-District band in middle school and made it the second time he tried out in high school as well. Luke is well versed in many genres of music due to his extensive experience in many instruments. Luke continues to further himself and is currently receiving his bachelor's in Music Production from Full Sail University. He can provide lessons in music history, music theory, music production, songwriting in addition to piano and trumpet lessons. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned professional, Luke can help you expand and enhance your playing. Luke is excited to learn how he can help you reach your musical goals. What to expect in my Orchestral Lessons
For students that are already established in an orchestra, I can help them understand their music and how to be an effective part of a whole. Teaching students music theory and technique is extremely important to be successful in an orchestra. Depending on the student's goals and experience will really shape the lessons. I can teach students to be able to follow the maestro more effectively and learn to listen to the whole group because there are so many moving parts.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Students will be taught music theory extensively and music appreciation. I like to go through the musical periods of time and compare them to modern music and see the similarities. If students are interested in music production I can also teach them how to use LogicProx, ProTools, Sibelius, and other platforms. I can also teach students how to set up a music studio and how to successfully record.
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
Students can expect a comprehensive assessment of their starting ability. I structure lessons to the student's goals. Music theory is an important aspect of my lessons and I like to include music appreciation so students understand the evolution of music and how it has changed throughout time. I believe that technique is crucial so that students can be confident in their playing abilities. My goal is for students to love music and believe in themselves and help them achieve their goals.

Fallon Turner
Luke is an amazing teacher with a great heart. He truly cares for his students and really encourages me to continue to do my best. He started with a preliminary assessment and really focuses the lessons on my needs and goals as a pianist. He teaches music theory, music appreciation, and taught me the correct technique for piano, which has made me even more confident in my playing ability. I recommend him as a teacher in music because he is well versed and has an extensive history and training in music. Fallon Turner wrote on Mon, 30 Nov -0001
