5 Years
Hello, my name is Katie and I am looking forward to teaching you all I know about music! I began playing music from a very young age. My primary instrument is the flute and I started playing this instrument when I was 10 years old and continue on to play on a professional level. Throughout my life I learned and performed on many instruments including piano, guitar, piccolo, trumpet, baritone, saxophone, clarinet, and oboe. I studied music education and music therapy at Slippery Rock University and graduated with my BA in Music. Currently I am back in school working on my masters in Occupational Therapy. I am truly excited to share my knowledge and help others experience music in a new way.
Kathryn P. has over 5 years of music experience in the El Paso area.

Performing Experience:
I have done a lot of performing throughout my life. I began in Jr/Sr high playing/competing in all county band, district band, regions band, all-state band, and honors band. I was also very involved in choir, show choir, musical theater, jazz band, and marching band. After school I was very active in community bands and orchestras all over the western PA region. I continued performing in college and performed in many different ensembles including wind ensemble, concert band, marching band, jazz band, musical theater, small ensembles, flute choir, and orchestra.
Experience Teaching:
Throughout my life, I have taught a lot of individuals music. This started as a teenager, I was first chair flute and on leadership for marching band. So my job was to teach my peers and guide them. When I went to college for music, I began teaching children in the classroom, was the flute instructor for 5 separate schools for their marching band, and taught individual music lessons. Currently I am teaching piano lessons and am really hoping to get some flute students!

Nicholas Lietz
Katie has been a great music teacher to me since starting with her. I started learning music later in life and really struggled with understand rhythm and reading music. Katie worked with me and I can finally say I feel comfortable identifying notes on the page and am able to play my assignments on the piano in time. I am excited to see where my music lessons take me a year from now! Nicholas Lietz wrote on Mon, 30 Nov -0001
