Hi! I am a current student at the DePaul University School of Music as a Jazz Studies major in the music performance department, on bass. I have been playing bass for 11 years, and I have received multiple awards for my playing, for example, being chosen as an Illinois All-State Musician in the Jazz Division two years in a row-ranking as 4th place my junior year in high school and 2nd place my senior year. I also have received multiple other awards like the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, and numerous others within my high school, where I was a section leader, drum major, and more in my school’s band, orchestra, marching band, and pep band. Within these, I was also rewarded for my work on classical alto saxophone which I also play, as well as some piano. On saxophone and bass, I was offered to take advanced collegiate level music performance courses during my high school career, and I was also a part of the Decatur Municipal Band as a musician and stage crew member. I have played many professional gigs, and am now continuing my musical career and education here in Chicago! I have taught and led fellow peers for multiple years, and I would love to continue teaching private lessons! I would especially like to teach young students at a beginning level, but I can offer a wide variety of skill level teaching. I can offer Jazz or Classical lessons on Upright bass, beginning electric bass, Alto saxophone, and beginning piano.
