About Me
Over the past fifteen years, I have dedicated my life to improving the lives, voices, and musical impact of those around me—particularly aspiring. I could offer you fluffy language about practice regimens, technical terms about the voice, but what has always worked for my clients is consistency, curiosity, and courage! That's what I want for you! I retired from full-time studio teaching in 2015 to focus on creating a more global solution to the problems artists face because paying someone like me $230/hr to teach you techniques you can’t replicate the next day is a waste of your time and money. Buying a book, an online course, or scouring the internet and YouTube for hacks, shortcuts, and quick-fixes won’t net you the return you’re probably looking for, so I've partnered with Taylor Robinson Music to offer you the highest caliber vocal coaching possible to help you reach your goals. My goal is to help you achieve yours by offering career guidance, a technique that is healthy and sticks, ear-training, help understand how to unlock your creative voice to write your own songs, expand your range, engage proper breath support, and most importantly, make you feel awesome and confident about your voice! I’ve been doing this for a long time— successfully having made my Carnegie Hall debut at 26, performed vocal production for major artists, watching my students earn degrees from prestigious institutions, and launch successful and rewarding careers in music using their most precious asset: their voices. Let’s get to work

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Choosing and developing chord progressions, penning meaningful lyrics, and expressing your authentic artistic voice. My goal is for you to create music that expresses who YOU are and what you want to say by giving you an understanding of song structure and advanced techniques that both beginners and veterans can use.

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced

Maximize your range quickly, learn the basics of how we produce sound, the importance of language and style-appropriate pronunciation, identify what is vocally healthy and what isn't, as well as helping you avoid simply mimicking the other artists' sounds. As a classically-trained singer with a master's degree from a major conservatory and 15 years of teaching experience, I will get you singing whatever you want in as little time as possible. Most importantly, though, I'll teach you how you can make these techniques second nature!

Review:

Dr. Michelle T

“For years, I have been an alto. After meeting with OJ, he helped me find my voice. He was able to determine my vocal range and I found out that I was never an alto, but a lyric soprano. I was so shocked, but excited at the same time. I thought that was amazing because he helped me discover my true vocal range. OJ is knowledgeable, patient, and fun to work with.” Dr. Michelle T wrote on Mon, 30 Nov -0001

“O.J is a very interesting instructor if I may say so myself. His focus is on the student & which direction the pupil wants to take their course. He meets you at your level & just when you thought you learned everything on one particular subject, he teaches you something new every single time.” Tyah R. wrote on Mon, 30 Nov -0001
