Hi I'm Colby! Whether it ranges from a slight curiosity about playing an instrument to full fledged professional guitar study, I help students bring the most out of their musical passion find their inner artist. Oh, and have tons of fun along the way! I have a Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Denver and have played guitar for over 20 years. My teaching philosophy focuses on music fundamentals by using the music each student loves the most to get them playing quickly and often! I teach all styles and specialize in songwriting and music theory. Personally, my favorite artists include John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Tom Misch and Mateus Asato. But no matter what you listen to, I love teaching all styles and abilities. If you want to take your playing and musical creativity to the next level, don't hesitate to reach out and let's get started! I currently do not travel for lessons, with a few exceptions, and have a wonderful in home studio to teach in.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

My teaching philosophy focuses on music fundamentals by using the music that each student loves the most to get them playing quickly and often. I tailor lesson plans to each individual to bring the most out of their musical passion. But I also use lessons to expand a student's musical perspective and push their abilities to help achieve success. But most importantly, learning and instrument should be fun and rewarding; that's always the biggest goal!
