Hi, my name is John. I hold a BFA in Musical Theatre from a top 5 Musical Theatre program--Penn State. My history in music stems from classical piano which led me to singing, which lead me to independent songwriting! I studied Musical Theatre Voice Pedagogy under Dr. Raymond Sage--one of the founders and renowned professors in the world, especially in regard to MT Voice Ped. I normally teach ages 14+ and we focus on SLS technique, registration, fundamentals, repertoire, audition techniques, and more! What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
With me as your instructor, we will find a way to understand music and lyric as one. What are you really trying to say and how can your music reflect inner thoughts. Vulnerability and truthfulness is the foundation of artistic song-writing in my opinion. We will learn how to tap into, and understand, different aspects of an idea, harmony, rhythm, and what authentic sound you truly have.
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
I specialize in Musical Theatre Voice, however, those techniques can carry over and be found in Pop/Rock, Country, Gospel, etc. Understanding foundational elements of the voice, kinesthetic awareness, registration, breathe control, and more is my specialty. If you want to increase your range, find ease in singing, learn more music, and do it all in a safe space to fail--I'm the instructor for you!
