Hi, my name is Javon and I am a guitar instructor from San Diego! I have been playing guitar for nearly 15 years and have been teaching others for over 3. I play in a touring band called Lighterburns and have played around the country on the Vans Warped Tour. Furthermore, I also have experience in recording, mixing, and producing music and have experience and knowledge of how the music industry works. I enjoy teaching guitar to students of all ages and skill levels and truly want to help each person I teach become the best musician they can be. Though I can teach many genres of music, my personal favorites are rock and alternative. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player looking to expand their sound, or if you have musical aspirations but need guidance and advice please feel free to contact me and schedule a lesson.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
I can work with students to learn the fundamentals of guitar playing, music theory, and songwriting. I can also work to expand their technical abilities or to learn songs they enjoy and teach them to write songs like their favorite artists. I have experience with teaching new players how to create practice routines that really work or can help students with decent chops focus their practice methods.
What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate
I will help students analyze why they enjoy the songs they enjoy and then teach them the skills to write songs of their own that are original and engaging. I will use fundamental music theory approaches to chord progressions and song structure but will also encourage students to think originally and be creative.
What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
Beginner - Intermediate
I will soon have a fully functioning well-built home studio complete with multiple high quality tube amps, fx processors, drum sets full set/electronic, guitars, bass, keyboards, pads, synths, and microphones. I can teach students the basics of mic placement, recording setup/procedures, live recording/monitoring, editing music in DAW's, mixing, and mastering.
