I was born in Detroit, MI, raised in Dallas, Texas, attended school in Chicago, IL and currently live in Kansas City, MO. My parents both play the clarinet, my mother plays the oboe, and both of my brothers play various instruments as well. I started piano when I was seven years old and oboe when I was eleven. My mother was my first oboe teacher, and in high school I studied with Rachel Messing and then Rogene Russell from the Fort Worth Symphony while attending Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas, TX. Currently, I study with Deborah Stevenson at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music. After I graduate in May, 2021, I plan on soon after pursuing a Masters degree in musicology and oboe performance, and perhaps even a doctorate I have been a featured soloist with the Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra three times. Recently, I have been recognized as the Winner of the Winds, Brass, and Percussion category of the 2019 Wheaton College Concerto Competition, receiving the Schultheis Award and Scholarship. I have also received accolades at the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music such as the Beth Falkenberg Fogg Instrumental Award and Scholarship for Musical Achievement and the President's Honor in Music scholarship.

Intermediate and advanced students will continue to strengthen skills that they have already learned, especially musical sensitivity, while they learn new skills like the basics of reed making.
Formal Education:
I currently attend the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music with an anticipated graduation date of May 2021. I am pursuing bachelors' degrees in oboe performance and music history and literature
Private Education:
In high school, I studied first from my mother, Lori, and then from Phoenix Symphony's Rachel Messing and the Fort Worth Symphony's Rogene Russell. Currently I study with Deb Stevenson, and extremely accomplished freelancing musician in the Chicago area.
Performing Experience:
I am currently a member of the Wheaton College Symphonic Band and the Wheaton College Symphony Orchestra, with which I have been a featured soloist on three occasions. In high school I was principle oboist in the Texas All-State 6A Symphonic Band, and I also performed at Carnegie Hall with the Booker T. Washington High School Wind Ensemble
Experience Teaching:
I am a relatively new teacher, but I have study pedagogy for a year and have conducted applied pedagogical lessons, along with a summer of teaching lessons to an adult student.
