5 Years
Hey musicians! My name is Hanna and I am currently working as a voice/beginner piano instructor as well as a performer in the greater Orlando area. I have been singing since I was a girl starting lessons myself at 7 years old. As time went on, my love for music grew encouraging me to pursue a BA in Music with a vocal concentration from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I have spent the past 5 years working in the entertainment industry and been teaching for 2. I utilize my experience from the industry combined with my formal training to offer my students proper technique musically and tools to act through their song. My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students get excited about their art and grow in confidence through it. I do my best to make lessons exciting and fun. After all, learning music is a blast!!
Hanna D. has over 5 years of music experience in the Graniteville area.
Hanna D. is proficient in and teaches Keyboard and Piano Lessons, Vocal Lessons .Degree and Field of Study:
What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons
In our piano lessons you can expect the following format. 1. Warm-ups. We will get our fingers moving by playing various exercises and scales. This will get us into the proper head spaceand get us ready to play! 2. Learn theory. Piano is the perfect first instrument. Even in our warm-ups we start to see some Music Theory. Throughout our music books we will have plenty of fun opportunities to understand and practice our theory skills. 3. Working through our books. I teach from the Alfred piano books. They are great for all ages, but they are a particularly useful tool for young piano players! As we progress through the books, students will learn songs that will help them with theory, sight-reading and technique. 4. We will have fun!
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
In our voice lessons you can expect the following format: 1. Warm-ups. These will be specially geared towards students' vocal needs, level and age. Before we start to sing anything else we want to make sure our voice is nice and warm. 2. Together we will choose a song or songs for us to work on over the course of several weeks. Each will be chosen with a specific learning purpose in mind. At our first lesson we will discuss goals and favorite types of music to better gauge repertoire. 3. Students can expect to be silly and have a lot of fun! It doesn't matter what age or level you are, singing can be super goofy. As artists we do some interesting things to further our growth. Be prepared to be adventurous and have a great time. I always do! :
